2009 Stoker Award Winners

The winners of the Bram Stoker Awards for best horror writing were announced at the World Horror Convention last weekend. The winners are:

Novel: Audrey's Door by Sarah Langan

First Novel: Damnable by Hank Schwaeble

Long Fiction: "The Lucid Dreaming" by Lisa Morton

Short Fiction: "In the Porches of My Ears" by Norman Prentiss

Fiction Collection: Taste of Tenderloin by Gene O'Neill

Anthology: He Is Legend: An Anthology Celebrating Richard Matheson, edited by Christopher Conlon

Nonfiction: Writers Workshop of Horror by Michael Knost

Poetry: Chimeric Machines by Lucy A. Snyder

It's one of the odd things about horror these days that some of these books are hard to come by. The Matheson tribute anthology, for instance, is all but unavailable. Still, you can find these if you look. Indeed, a few of them are going to arrive on my doorstep one day very soon!
